Cathy Unruh–author of “Taming Me: Memoir Of A Clever Island Cat,” longtime animal advocate and former TV journalist in Tampa (who still hosts programs on the Central Florida PBS affiliate)–discusses the factors that led to writing “Taming Me,” her first book. As part of this, Unruh addresses the decision to write the story in the voice of Lucy Miracle, the former feral cat found on the Bahamian island of Cat Cay that forms the center of the book’s saga. She also comments on the mission of “Taming Me,” the extent to which he views it as a fable, and the polarizing issues–locally and beyond–swirling around feral cats, the implementation of TNR (Trap, Neuter and Return) and more.
