Jane Hoffman, president of the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals–which brings together more than 60 non-profit animal care groups based in and around Manhattan, with a collective goal to make New York City “no kill” in a two-stage, five/10-year plan–discusses the history and evolution of the Alliance, how a 60-group collective can and does work well and cohesively, the Alliance’s wildly ambitious goals and the wildly enormous grants (to the tune of about 20 million bucks) it has received toward achieving those goals.
