Wendy Kelly–an animal behaviorist who’s the founder and owner of Pet Peeves Animal Training, Inc., based in Clearwater, FL–discusses her transformation from human therapist to animal behaviorist, including the patterns and categories of behavioral she tends to see regularly in her practice.

She also explains the assessment process she undertakes with each new client, and how this dictates how she will proceed with the animal and its human(s). To help illuminate this part of the discussion, we include a case study of sorts involving a once-challenging, very fearful boxer named Barksdale–incorporating comments from one of his humans, Margaret Murray, including the dramatic change in Barksdale’s day-to-day behavior.
